Background

Patterdale Hall is a residential adventure learning centre based at the Southern end of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District. The hall buildings, gardens and around 80 acres of estate land are owned by Bolton School in Lancashire who were previously users of the facilities, but then decided to purchase the centre in July 2014 for use by their pupils as well as other schools.

Signs Now had supplied Bolton School with new signs a couple of years ago when they completely rebranded the school. Since purchasing Patterdale Hall, they decided to rebrand the hall to match the school colours and needed signs around the grounds replacing.

Planning

Patterdale Hall Collage

With being a historic estate in the heart of the Lake District, gaining planning permission and listed buildings consent was important and it was necessary to work with the local community to ensure that all parties were satisfied with the positioning of the signs.

Signs Supplied

We supplied freestanding delta post and panel signs at each entrance as well as wall signs across the site. It was a challenging installation for our team due to the ground being very rocky. This meant that digging out the ground to a suitable depth in order to sink in the posts sufficiently was tricky, but our team have overcome bigger obstacles!

The Results

The result is fresh new signage, symbolic of the connection to Bolton School and an improved welcome to all that visit and enjoy the facilities at Patterdale Hall.
